Volunteer of the Year Award 2023

This year, the Rotary Club of Foster will be recognising an outstanding local volunteer by presenting them with an award for their exceptional contribution to the Foster Community throughout the year 2023.

These guidelines provide information about the Volunteer of the Year Award 2023, how to submit a nomination and the eligibility criteria.

The award

The award will be in the form of a certificate of achievement and a $500 cash donation to the awardee’s charity of choice and will be presented on or around the Australia Day Celebrations in Foster on 26 January 2024. Details to be announced.

Nominations

A volunteer may be nominated and seconded by an organisation or individual(s), on the official nomination form:

The closing date for nominations is 5pm on Sunday, 31 December 2023.

The award will be determined by a selection panel. The selection panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding its selection.

Eligibility

Only volunteers are eligible.

Volunteers are considered to be individuals who are not paid for their activities and efforts on behalf of the community (apart from reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses incurred).

The national definition of volunteering states:

“Volunteering is time willingly given for the common good and without financial gain.”

Nominated persons for the Volunteer of the Year Award are expected to have demonstrated involvement with or participation in the Foster Community in 2023.
