Anastasia’s monument at the Foster Cemetery

At the turn of last century Anastasia Thornley was a well known identity who ran the Foster Pub (Exchange Hotel) for over 30 years. The Rotary Club of Foster have donated $2,500 towards the restoration of her grave in the Foster Cemetery. Anastasia died in 1907 at the age of 80. No relatives can be traced which is why the Foster Cemetery Trust is restoring this magnificent monument. The donation will go a long way to restore the grave which is subsiding on the left hand side.
